A strong and confident drumline is the heart of any marching band. It lends a steady beat to the foundation of the music and keeps everyone walking in perfect step.
The Drumline is a sub-organization with its own instructor and practice location. While they play alongside the rest of the band, they also have a repertoire of Street Beats (drum-solo songs meant to exemplify the skill and precision of a drumline). Street Beats give the drummers a chance to perform more difficult pieces and give the rest of the band a breather between songs.
The McMaster Marching Band Drumline consists of cymbals, snare, bass, and tenor drums. MMB provides marching percussion.
The Drumline meets at the same time as the instrumentalists, but in a separate location.
