A strong and confident drumline is the heart of any marching band. It lends a steady beat to the foundation of the music and keeps everyone walking in perfect step.
The Drumline is a sub-organization with its own instructor and practice location. While they play alongside the rest of the band, they also have a repertoire of Street Beats (drum-solo songs meant to exemplify the skill and precision of a drumline). Street Beats give the drummers a chance to perform more difficult pieces and give the rest of the band a breather between songs.
The McMaster Marching Band Drumline consists of snare, bass, and tenor drums, along with cymbals.
